Tempio Industriale means Industrial Temple in italian, and is meant to be a spiritual shelter from the moral decadence of the contemporary Western Society. Our daily life is lacking moments of meditation and prayer. There is no time to put the care of our souls in the center of our lives. An unbridled and irrational consumerism is the cornerstone of our lives; the Sacred is dead and the spirituality is banished, unless when it can be a way to make money or to produce more. A cruel and ruthless materialism dominates our lives; Faith, Religions and Traditions are ridiculed by the mainstream media and seen as a heritage of past civilizations. Tempio Industriale, through his works, tries to rediscover the religious identity of contemporary men through his simplest, and therefore authentic and sincere forms: basic drawings, humble altars, rusty icons, simple ex voto. Out there the devotion for the Sacred is not completely lost; the idea that something bigger exits at that the human being is not the measure of everything, is still eradicated in the minds and souls of people. In the lives of many the Faith is still present and helps to bring some light is the daily struggle for the survival against the modern world. The works of Tempio Industriale are made with the garbage of the contemporary society: scrap metal found in the street, debris forgotten in abandoned factories, forgotten religious decorations for sale in fleas markets. The poor value of the used material represent the vacuity of the products of our Society, that shortly transforms everything into garbage, because a new product has to be sold. But true value is not measured by money: these humble objects want to express the popular faith and the devotion and respect that is due to the Unknown.
